In Mesopotamian Babylon, military decisions were made after consulting diviners. Priests. Animals such as sheep or goats were sacrificed after invocations to gods. The internal organs were studied for and markings, color, shape and anomalies. The significance of each organ was systematized but there was art to interpreting an answer to the question to be answered. The spleen was linked to emotions or relationships. Tubes and airways indicated communication or blockages. Various lobes of the liver were linked to aspects of life such as family or career. An important question about war might be verified a second or third time on more sacrificed animals.

A Greek oracle at Baiae might be found after descending into a cave and crossing the river Styx on a boat. In a flame lit volcanic fume heated cavern, a female virgin would respond to a question gesticulating and speaking in tongue. She channeled the dead. An interpreter would translate the answer.

In the 1970's, 80's, and 90's the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command remote viewers correctly predicted the launch of the world's largest submarine in Russia, pursued Saddam Hussein's location during the Gulf War, visited the studio of Leonardo Da Vinci, and reported on Cleopatra, Jesus and the lost city of Atlantis. A tasker presented the question. Remote viewers drew sketches and took notes of the target. Monitors guided the process. Analysts and sometimes CIA intelligence officers interpreted the findings.

The army, CIA, DIA collaboration also explored telepathy and precognition. In early 70's there was some sort of media buzz about Soviet intelligence success with remote viewing telepathy and moving things with the mind. According to a John Kiriakou of the CIA, rumors about the Soviet psy programs were propagated by Chinese intelligence. Perhaps exaggerated speculations about 1920's to 1960's Soviet papers on the subject led to America's secret program. Rumors. The Soviet Union was investing up to 60 million rubles annually in "psychotronics." Remote viewing and telepathy was bound to detect secret nuclear codes or hypnotize the president.

I heard about remote viewing decades ago on Art Bell's Coast to Coast radio show. In a room full of officers researching psychic phenomena, one told the rest that he'd mastered dematerialization. To prove it, he ran at full speed into a wall. Otherwise, the drawing program sounded very promising. I downloaded a pdf manual explaining the technique. It's pretty simple.
